“Would like to thank Comedy International for the opportunity to speak on International comedy markets. Great mix of over 100 industry professionals from all over the world, all very talented and driven to expand their particular trade within the comedy circle. And I was on a panel with an Israeli comedy promoter! That’s something that i couldn’t fathom at first – Two guys who can’t enter each other’s country but can agree so much on how comedy can impact a nation. Thanks Sytske Kamstra for making the conference an excellent hub for the exchange of ideas, experiences and contacts within this quirky group of “comedy professionals”.”

“It was great to hear from people that I until that point only knew as names or via email and I really felt a sense of open-ness and collaboration. For me, working at a company that has strong links with television but not so much on the live circuit, it was really useful to meet with comedy bookers, promoters and venues. I definitely hope to come again next year.”

Dear Carl was superb at rounding us up for things and a wonderful host of the first panel. The venue was superb and well run. The staff (both yours and Pleasance) were excellent and very helpful and positive. Can’t fault it and it’s natural great atmosphere helped make the day.
Once again a HUGE thanks for a really enjoyable and productive day. I will definitely be coming to next year’s event, and hopefully to many more of them over the coming years.”

Firstly, congratulations on a really well run event. As I think I said beforehand, I wasn’t sure how relevant some of the panels were going to be to me personally, but full credit to you that they were all interesting to the extent I paid close attention to everything in the end.
I particularly enjoyed the bit where the promoters started asking the ticket companies for their data – I know that wasn’t supposed to be on the agenda, but it was good to see relevant issues discussed!

We were impressed by the quality of attending delegates and the quality of panels discussing relevant topics for our industry. “The Greenwich Comedy Conference provided a unique opportunity for those involved in developing, presenting and marketing comedy to new and existing audiences to share and build ideas to succeed. The whole day was engaging, inspiring and exciting and should send all delegates away with a list of things they can and should be doing. I trust everyone else found the day as informative as I did.”

Initiatives like Comedy International are exactly what it needs to support this change and growth.”

We have made a great deal of new contacts and enjoyed the debates. There is no doubt that this conference will grow in the future and help comedy to travel and network to blossom. “

“Stationed in a far-flung outpost of the growing International Comedy circuit it was a great confidence booster to be able to get a sense of where the UK industry is heading from those directly involved as well as finally meet some of the people who are normally only a name on the bottom of an email or a voice on the end of the phone.”
Guy Stevens – Owner, Promoter/ Producer, Funny Laundry / Jackanapes Productions GmbH

“The Comedy International Conference is a place where you need to be, to meet who you need to meet, while having a lot of fun. The best thing is that everybody speaks their mind with an open view of the opinion of the others.

“Greenwich Comedy Festival is proud to be hosting the inaugural Comedy International Conference at the Old Royal Naval College. Similar events in other creative industries have proven to be extremely popular and a very useful way to build contacts, share expertise and develop the business side of entertainment, and it seems high time that comedy had an event of its own. Bringing together people from all over the international comedy industry, the first conference in Greenwich promises to be a great opportunity to discover new people and ideas in a beautiful setting.”
Cass Briggs – Organiser, Greenwich Comedy Festival
